ADHD and autism functional medicine support

Attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a neurobehavioral condition that affects a child’s ability to pay attention and exercise age-appropriate impulse control. A child with ADHD can present with inattentiveness, impulsivity, hyperactivity or a combination that would impact their functioning at home, school and with their activities. ADHD usually becomes evident in children during preschool or elementary school. Dr. Bizios will perform a thorough naturopathic assessment, incorporate functional testing to identify underlying ADHD triggers and use naturopathic treatments to support her pediatric patient population.

Autism Spectrum Disorder is a neurological disorder that impacts a child’s ability to interact, behave and communicate in social situations. The spectrum encompasses a range of severity and uniqueness in how the condition is expressed. ASD is usually identified between the ages of 2 to 6 years old and is most prevalent in boys. Dr. Bizios will perform a comprehensive naturopathic assessment to identify underlying triggers or aggravating factors. Naturopathic and functional testing methods will also be implemented. Dietary suggestions and case appropriate supplementation will be used with the overarching goal of correcting identifiable imbalances, supporting the healing process and improving overall health.
