Lifestyle Genomics Focused
Dr. Murphy’s focus is in lifestyle genomics, an area of genetic testing that uses an individual’s genetic profile to provide personalized recommendations in the treatment and prevention of chronic disease. This includes understanding how genetics may influence hormonal balance, fertility, detoxification and unique diet and nutritional needs.
Dr. Murphy’s experience in genetics began as the Associated Medical Director at a lifestyle genomics company, where she trained extensively alongside the medical genomicist, Dr. Mansoor Mohammed, PhD. Dr. Murphy contributed significantly to the research and development of genomic panels and worked extensively to train physicians in the clinical application of genomic testing for personalized medicine.
Dr. Murphy is the Medical Advisor for The IBS Academy and is on the Scientific Advisory Board of the genomics company Qiyas. She continues to contribute to the clinical application of genomic testing through publications in peer-reviewed medical journals, public speaking and on-going training for physicians.
Dr. Murphy holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Alberta and degree of Naturopathic Medicine from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine, and has continued her post-doctoral training for advanced certifications in functional gastroenterology, therapeutic prescriptions, bio-identical hormone therapy (BHRT), and biological medicine.
