Welcoming Therapist Boris Kris to the CAM Team
Therapist Boris Kris practising Heart Rate Variability – Stress Assessment and Relief. Heart Rate Variability is the heart rhythm pattern created by the beat-to- beat changes in your heart rate. The heart rhythm pattern detected by our HRV monitor gives us insight into the state of the nervous system, which is the main regulator of heart rate and other body systems.
Boris Kris considers it a privilege to encourage people in their desire to create life changes, and to join with them in their efforts to rediscover a vision of hope and resilience for their lives. He has been working as an individual, couple, and family therapist for nearly a decade and is currently on the LifeCare Centres counselling team in Pickering, Courtice, and Cobourg. He is a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario, and also an Associate Member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy. He holds a Masters of Science Degree in Couple and Family Therapy from the University of Guelph.
Boris is passionate about helping people get reconnected to their sense of self-worth in ways that help them address a wide variety of issues, such as couple and family issues, parents and children, adolescence, stress, depression and anxiety, ADHD, and OCD. Boris has also had specialized experience in issues related to the impact of trauma and abuse, domestic violence, bullying, and anger. He integrates aspects from mindfulness, dialogic, narrative, solution- focused, and cognitive behavioural therapy. He is particularly gifted in his ability to help people find hope in the midst of turmoil and darkness.
